Landscape painting

Page history last edited by 1nfinite zer0 14 years, 5 months ago

Landscape painting is the term here used to represent a graphical backdrop that is used as a story telling aid.  These are used to enhance the visuals of stories, to make them more immersive.  A mix between photo-realism and fantasy is desired.  If using photos, please edit them so that they look slightly unreal while preserving detail.  This is a story world with strong parallels to reality, but we still desire an immersive unique world.

see screen layout discussion for theories of use.

see stories for examples of use.

Images should be in screen size proportion:

320x240, 640x480, 800x600

smaller sizes are better for bandwidth and space upload sizes.

DO NOT use copyright images without authorization of the artist. Creative commons images are great, but please include the appropriate license with a back linker to source (original work or detailed modification to fit the world is preferred).

Images that are found to be in violation to copyright will be removed immediately. To prevent this, please link to originals when you add them or use only original material.  Oh, and don't forget to give yourself credit! ~:)
