The Forbidden Lover

The PCs are demon hunters. There is a demon that is stealing the souls of the children of wealthy and important people. This demon becomes a desirable mate and seduces the individual, while working together a scenraio that will force them both to sacrifice themselves together "for the sake of love". The demon is actually preparing the individual to sacrifice themselves to it, and will capture their spirit. In Shashnanii culture, committing suicide will not send your spirit essence back to the global well.

The character may encounter a hook as the beginning of a trail of evidence. They will come upon the demon as it is about to spring its trap. It may be complicated by the important statesperson who is acting as the guardian of the victim. They will no doubt have fallen for the ploy and believe that the demon is a benevolant being.

The players, being law-abiding citizens (on envoy from the higher government), cannot simply attack the being upon suspicion. They need to catch it in the act, or force it to reveal itself.

-it can take the form of its prior victims, since it holds their souls. any individuals who knew the previous being will know the difference immediately. There is a noticable "cursed" aura visible to them.
