It is a sunny morning in the town of Ezvek.  People have already begun some of their daily tasks and you rise with excitement, ready to meet with your friends on your first day and head out into the land.

As young adventurers, you find the yearly routines of the townspeople rather mundane.  There haven't even been any exciting invasions or competitions in the past few years.  Most townsfolk seem content at this, happily spending time pursuing their interests and socializing, but the adventuring streak drives you of course.

Scrubtown image: an example of a simple settlement in a scrubby savannah area.

This is the form of the home pod of the adventurers, though Ezvek is bigger than this in total.

    • along river
    • random direction (always force them to come back by dark if they don't find anything.  under fear of death, and railroad, sorry)
  • Markets
    • (try to trade the crystal)
      • "Oh, you must take this to the Elders, we cannot trade with these unless they are registered"
        • Okay. Go to the Elders
        • No.  We want it.
          • "Then I guess I will have to keep it and take it to them myself
            • Players can fight and get kicked out if they choose
            • Elders approach them about it
    • Trade materials from landscape for credit
    • Upgrade weapons, tools & supplies
    • Struts for Fasticus to create a travois

  • Tower south along the river.  A wounded traveller receives the message, he chats with the players, reminiscing about how he sought adventure.  I'm sure you've heard of the crystals by now then haven't you?
    • Yes, we know that they are...
      • Ahh yes, but did you know that there a bunch of old shrines around?
    • No
      • Oh well then (First explanation).  And then there is all the old abandoned shrines
    • Tell us more about the shrines
      • Location; one small one, one bigger hidden one that someone local might know the location of
        • Kahl is the best bet for this, but the Elders are the only ones who know his name and home.
      • Danger; variable, usually has critters in there
  • More Talking with the Elders
    • Shrines
      • quite dangerous because monsters have moved in, every once in a while they are cleared out to be used for a few generations and left to go wild again.  Their main powers were evident back in the magic war, but most of the important ones are currently being maintained.
      • the ones in use can be visited to pray and such, but only the outer layer can be accessed unless you are trained/experienced priest/magician
      • There's a small one here <<give map location in forest.  a small shrine good for a few fights and some treasure, nothing major>>
    • Crystals
      • Ah yes, these crystals are very important to the history of this region.  Originally found by the Termita, veins of these crystal lace under the grounds in this region.  They are forbidden to be mined in large quantities and it is rumoured that deep deep underground there are still caves which grow them ever so slowly, even to Shashnimyn life spans.
      • Can be used to store and focus magical energy
        • No one in town knows the secrets of how to use them for anything but simple batteries.
        • Two myns in this region do: Kahl the Mad and Shelali the Healer.
          • Where?  Give map location for Kahl & Shelali, the former being much closer and the latter having disappeared, her house lies empty.
      • A natural resonance of the entire region, making magic a little bit easier to do.  Most Myn don't notice this subtle effect, especially if they've been living here all their lives.  The Algae farmers insist they notice a difference when their clouds pass over, although the wind picks up and the nearest stop for them is the canyon city nearby.
      • They attract demons, which is why so much of the Temperate transition income goes into border guards and funding adventurers to hunt down dens of Demons
        • Oh, didn't you know?  There are rewards for exposing demon dens and even more if they can be cleansed.
          • Players will have a choice later whether to reveal the infested state of the dungeon or not.  Sharn will know when they do.
