New evolutionary reproductive biology (NERB) is the set of conditions that is in majority as a result of the evolution war. It consists of an agreement of citizens to uphold the evolutionary potential and strong genetic diversity of the Shashnimyn species for future generations.
- individuals are not to reproduce until an older age
- increases total selection pressure before heritabiltiy
- selects for further longevity
- decreases unsustainable population growth
- reproduction is a privilege, not a right
- those unable to breed are still welcome to be parents
- adoption is the norm of all parents
- biological link to individual child less important than a favoured child in the tribe
- sterilization is not required, but encouraged.
- violations of breeding agreements can revoke citizenship
- for disabled individuals, the care of the tribe is worth far more than a child in the litter you can't be sure is yours anyways
- breeding restrictions
- vary at low, med, high resource availabilities
- innocents are allowed to wander off
- less biological investment after weaning.
- community raises children, youth adopted when useful
- some innocents die, some go wild, some come back to work/train/learn
- innocents are cared for until later in their lives
- usually when the reproductive rate is not sustainable. ie, in areas that have to limit the number of total children, but also have to promote survival (e.g. a desert (low resource availability) infested with predatory monsters (high incident mortality))
