The Canyons are respite from the Deserts. Their carved faces howl with winds, but hold a layer of moist air within their branchioles. The vegetation thickens as you head towards the river. The microclimate is productive in proportion to the height of the canyon and the size of the river. Cities within the desert follow along the canyons. They also serve as important trade routes. Ships and flyers use their currents.
