The Magic War was one of the Three World Wars. Throughout the course of the war (which lasted hundreds of years) the level of ambient useable magical energy was increased 60 fold.

This world war started soon after it was discovered how to channel more magical energy into the planet from the stars. The results of this channelling are a primary cause of the demon invasion of the planet. It was bound to happen, but was accelerated long before its time as a result. The intergalactic gods are not pleased. The demons did not arrive en masse at this point, though historians suggest there may have been a few scouts.
